Marianne Hill – Lead Trainer

Marianne Hill – Lead Trainer

Marianne is the founder and director of Healing The Shadow and is present on all training weekends

I believe that becoming a confident and competent practitioner requires a journey into radical self-love, self-acceptance, self-care and self-compassion. At the same time it requires a constant turning towards one’s own shadows - the dark roots of one’s psyche - and a meeting of oneself in this place.

To be truly trusted with another’s heart and soul one must know one’s own heart and soul - both the light and the dark.

8 years ago, when I started to engage with my own personal journey of emotional healing with Marianne Hill, I was initially struck by the power and effectiveness of the work, and later by the desire to bring it to as many other people as possible. Taking the Healing The Shadow training course seemed a natural way forward and this fabulous two year training – thorough, broad reaching and deep – has enabled me to offer to others the professional, highly effective, safe and shame free sessions that I have benefitted from myself over the years.

I’m a full time Healing The Shadow Practitioner and I work face to face with individuals at my practice room in Bristol. I work with my clients to support them in getting to know and understand themselves better, in changing long held patterns and beliefs imprinted on them in childhood, in healing emotional wounds, in finding more connection and a felt sense of safety in their relationships and in reclaiming their natural gifts and strengths.

Rod Boothroyd – Elder Trainer

Rod Boothroyd – Elder Trainer

Rod is our Healing The Shadow Elder. He supports Marianne in interviewing and assessing the trainees and offers mentorship and guidance

I’ve been involved in the world of psychotherapy, counselling and emotional healing for more than 20 years now.

Over that time, I’ve come to see how a number of basic principles run through all the work I’ve engaged in with my clients, whether working one-to-one individually or in groups.
